Poised on the western boundary of Columbia Golf Course in Northeast Minneapolis, Brother Justus combines the best of city lifestyle with Minnesota’s natural beauty. Our distinctive spaces provide ideal settings and accommodations for a variety of high-end events. Your guests will be wowed by the beauty and character of the distillery.

The Cocktail Room

Natural materials in neutral colors and comfortable, but sleek, modern furniture makes the space perfect for every season, from cool and refreshing in summer to warm and cozy in winter and everything in between. Our in-house seating includes a mix of soft lounge chairs as well as high-top tables and bar stools. Clients are welcome to rent additional seating and/or furnishings from our pre-approved vendor list.

The Terrace

Our outdoor Terrace overlooking Columbia Golf Course is a relaxing location to enjoy the warmer weather and celebrate special occasions. With open views of green fairways and wooded hills, you’d never guess you’re just minutes from downtown Minneapolis and Northeast. Service on the Terrace is included for private events Thursday-Sunday, and can be added to any rental of the Cocktail Room Monday-Wednesday for an additional fee.

The Chapter Room

Nestled deep inside the barrel warehouse, this glass-walled space has views of our 1,000-gallon copper whiskey still, Brigid, and distillery operations. Equipped with its own A/V system and a 10-foot hand-made, custom table by Wildbird Woodworks, this space is ideal for meetings or small, intimate gatherings of family and friends. Access to the Chapter Room is included for full buy-out events scheduled from Thursday through Sunday. The Chapter Room can be added to any rental of the Cocktail Room Monday-Wednesday for an additional rental fee.

The seated capacity of the Chapter Room table is 12 and standing up to 20. The space can accommodate up to 10 additional seats with the addition of small high-top tables and bar stools adjacent to the space. A mobile bar is available for dedicated, limited service.

Our Team, at Your Service

Included in your rental is access to our highly trained, skilled bar staff and an event manager, who will work with you to ensure all your needs are met.

Guided Distillery Tours

Tours can be arranged as part of your event to give your group will a behind-the-scenes look at our innovative distillation process. Tours are best suited for groups of 2-10 at a time and start at $30 per person. Included with tours is a tasting of our American Single Malt Whiskey. Tours booked as part of an event rental count toward your event’s beverage minimum.

Guided Whiskey Tasting

Experience a guided tasting of our American Single Malt Whiskeys from one of our dedicated staff members. Guided tastings are $17 per person and will count towards your event’s beverage minimum.

Additional Venue Rental Details

  • Venue rentals require meeting a beverage minimum. Pricing details for each space are listed above. Beverage minimums can include cocktails, whiskey tastings, tours, low-ABV cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. Beverage minimums do not include taxes or service charges. Taxes and a 16% service charge will be an additional charge. If a group does not reach the beverage minimum, the difference will be due at the end of the event.

  • Our Cocktail Room is equipped with a digital projector and large screen, sound system, and microphones.

    The Chapter Room has a 53” monitor for presentations.

    The Distillery and bar area are equipped with accent lighting with several color choices.

  • The following caterers are approved for food service. Other caterers may be approved on a case-by-case basis but must meet our service and inclusivity standards. Proof of catering license and insurance is required for all food and beverage providers.

  • For additional beverages such as beer and wine, a caterer with an off-premise liquor license is required. Guests are not permitted to bring in alcohol of any kind.

    No other alcohol or spirits are permitted.

  • All licensed and self-sufficient food trucks are welcome to utilize our parking lot during your event. Food truck parking location must be pre-approved. Food trucks are subject to all local rules and regulations.

  • International Cigars

    Incorporate cigar rolling into your event! You can do a full class or simply have freshly rolled cigars available to your guests.

  • Our space was specifically designed in consultation with WeCo, a company founded and operated by people living with disabilities.

    WeCo helped to ensure our entire space and all its features are fully and seamlessly accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Each of your guests will feel fully included and valued, however they move through or sense the world around them. This includes multiple low bars, evenly distributed speakers, and accessible single-stall restrooms.
