  • Coffee Liqueur is a sweet, coffee-flavored alcoholic beverage that is made by infusing coffee beans into a spirit, then often adding sugar or other flavoring agents, like vanilla or chocolate. The spirit can be rum, tequila, vodka, whiskey, or any other that can take on the coffee flavor from the beans.

  • Yes, coffee liqueur typically has an ABV between 20-25%. Black Cashmere has an ABV of 22%, or 44 Proof.

  • Yes, coffee liqueur often contains natural caffeine from the beans that are soaked in the spirit. How much caffeine depends on the specific liqueur, and can run the gamut from as little as 5mg per ounce to upwards of 50mg per ounce. Black Cashmere contains an average of 21mg per ounce, which makes it about twice as potent as an ounce of strong coffee, or half as much as an espresso.

  • However you want to drink it! Sip it on its own, neat or on the rocks; use it in a classic cocktail, like an Espresso Martini, White Russian, Revolver, or others; or play around with adding it to your other favorite drinks to give them a coffee backbone!   • Because coffee liqueur contains natural ingredients, the flavor and quality will diminish over time. You might see some separation in the bottle that doesn't resolve with shaking, or the aroma might not be as potent. Rarely does it become dangerous, due to the alcohol content, but we highly recommend consuming a bottle within one year of purchase. Store unopened bottles in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight. Once opened, keep the bottle in a refrigerator and consume within six months. Make sure the bottle is resealed tightly after each pour!

  • Black Cashmere's recipe does not contain any ingredients that are glutinous, but it is processed in a facility that processes gluten-containing grain.
