ALL HALLOWS’ EVE COSTUME CONTEST RULES  

OFFICIAL RULES 

All participants must be 21 years of age or older. All participants in the All Hallows’ Eve Costume Contest (“EVENT”) must show valid form of ID. Must be present during the EVENT judging to enter and to win. 

You will be photographed and your image/likeness may be used for promotional purposes including social media. By participating in the costume contest, you give BROTHER JUSTUS and any staff, representative, or agency rights to use your image/likeness in conjunction with future promotion of the EVENT in perpetuity and for no monetary compensation. 

You must be present at the EVENT during the costume contest judging in order to win. This EVENT will take place on Saturday, October 26, starting at 8pm, at BROTHER JUSTUS located at 3300 5th St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418. Winners will be announced at 9pm. 

Contest entrants must abide by the following rules, and any additional rules provided the night of the EVENT, set forth by BROTHER JUSTUS and the event producers. Entrants who do not abide by the costume contest rules will be disqualified and may be removed from the distillery. 

• All costumes should provide enough coverage to be worn in public.  

• Keep it clean. No hate speech or harassment of other contestants of any kind will be tolerated. We know our customers are awesome, but we still have to say it. 

• No throwing of glitter, confetti, fire, smoke, glasses, bottles, balls, or projectiles of any sort.  

• If your costume requires power, it must be contained as part of your costume. 

• You must remain in the Cocktail Room area for the entirety of the contest. Please listen to the directions given by the emcee and be respectful to your fellow contestants. If you have any accessibility needs, please let the Brother Justus team know. 

• Your costume must allow you freedom of movement so that you can move freely around the Cocktail Room. 

• Footwear is mandatory. Shoes, boots, slippers, or plastic type foot prosthetics are required. Socks only do not qualify. Any lack of accuracy in your costume will be forgiven. 

• Please arrive at the EVENT with your costume on in its entirety, including make-up. 

For safety reasons, the following props are not allowed: 

• Live animals (with the exception of service animals) 

• Substances that might damage or stain facilities or other costumes and participants (i.e., fake blood, glitter, confetti, silly string, water, messy body or face paint, smoke, etc.) 

• Aerosol sprays 

• Flames, pyrotechnics, or explosives of any kind. 

• Metal bats, large wrenches, or shovels. 

• Weapons of any sort 

CONTESTANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGES AND/OR MEDICAL BILLS THAT MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT OF NOT ABIDING BY CONTEST RULES. 

Costume Contest Judging, Criteria, and Prizes 

To enter, participants should come to the lobby between 8-8:45pm to have their photo taken by a BROTHER JUSTUS team member. Representatives from BROTHER JUSTUS will select their top costume choices based on the below criteria: 

• Use of Theme and Creativity 
  The ancient Celts used to dress up to ward off evil spirits during Samhain; while that’s not the case here, get creative with it and go all out! 

• Effort and Execution 
  We’ll know if you tried; commit to the bit, whatever it is. 

• Judge’s Discretion 
  They are called judges, after all.
  JUDGES’ DECISION IS CONSIDERED FINAL AND NOT CONTESTABLE. 

BJWC representatives will provide their nominees to the Emcee by 8:50pm.  

There will be one set of three prizes awarded at the EVENT: 

• (1) First Prize Winner: 
  $75 gift card for BROTHER JUSTUS WHISKEY CO. COCKTAIL ROOM + 1 BJWC branded hat + 1 BJWC tumbler 
  ARV: $127

• (1) Second Prize Winner:  
  $50 gift card for BROTHER JUSTUS WHISKEY CO. COCKTAIL ROOM + 1 BJWC branded hat 
  ARV: $74

• (1) Third Prize Winner: 
  $25 gift card for BROTHER JUSTUS WHISKEY CO. COCKTAIL ROOM + 1 BJWC branded hat 
  ARV: $49
