Brother Justus Whiskey Signature Cocktails

As much as we love whiskey neat, we also believe that deliciously crafted cocktails bring our whiskey to new heights, so we've created a cocktail that pairs perfectly with our three flagship whiskeys. Pick up a bottle at our Distillery and Cocktail Room or at a retailer near you to craft each of these signature drinks at home!

American Single Malt Silver Whiskey

The Long Tieng

Citrus and Spice

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Brother Justus American Single Malt Silver Whiskey

  • ¾ oz Pho Syrup

  • ½ oz fresh lime juice

  • Ice

To Make the Pho Syrup

Step 1. Combine 1 cup water and 1 ¼ cup sugar in a pot and bring to a boil while stirring until incorporated.

Step 2. Grind the following spices in a food processor or blender:

  • 2g Star Anise (about three pods)

  • 1 Cinnamon stick

  • 2 Cloves

  • ½ teaspoon Coriander Seeds

  • 3 Cardamom Pods

Step 3. Add ground spices to the pot and set heat to simmer, simmering for about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let come to room temperature. Once at room temperature, the syrup can be refrigerated and will last up to 14 days.

To Make the Long Tieng:

Combine whiskey, pho syrup, and fresh lime juice in a shaker over ice. Shake and strain into a Rocks glass with light ice, and garnish with a lime wedge or star anise pod.

American Single Malt Whiskey

The Pomona

Fruity and Refreshing

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz American Whiskey

  • ¾ oz Cinnamon Maple Syrup

  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice

  • Apple Bitters

  • Ice

To Make the Cinnamon Maple Syrup:

Step 1. Combine 10 tablespoons of maple syrup, 3 ½ tablespoons of water, and ¼ tablespoon of ground cinnamon in a pot and set heat to low. Stir to incorporate.

Step 2. Once the liquid begins to simmer, remove from heat and let come to room temperature.

Step 3. When at room temperature, the syrup can be refrigerated and will last up to 14 days.

To Make the Pomona:

Combine whiskey, cinnamon maple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and apple bitters in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a Collins or Rocks glass with a large ice cube, and garnish with a dried apple chip or fresh apple slice

Cold-Peated® American Single Malt Whiskey

The Golden Hour

Tart and Herbaceous

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Cold-Peated® Whiskey

  • ¾ oz fresh grapefruit Juice

  • ¾ oz Gold Syrup

  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice

  • Ice

To Make the Rosemary Honey Syrup:

Step 1. Soak 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary in one cup of warm water for at least one hour, up to five hours.

Step 2. Strain the rosemary from the water (don't discard yet!) and combine the rosemary-infused water and one cup of honey in a pot, set to low heat on the stovetop.

Step 3. Stir to incorporate the honey and water. Once the liquid begins to simmer, turn off the heat and pour your liquid into a medium bowl, adding back the rosemary sprigs. Let the rosemary infuse the syrup for at least 20 minutes.

Step 4. Filter through a strainer and refrigerate once the liquid has reached room temperature. The syrup will last approximately 14 days in your refrigerator.

To Make The Golden Hour:

Combine whiskey, fresh grapefruit juice, rosemary honey syrup, and lemon juice in a strainer with ice. Shake and strain into a Collins or Rocks glass over a large ice cube, and garnish with a grapefruit peel rip!

Optional: If you want to take it up a notch, rim your glass with rosemary sea salt.
