2026 Blessing of the Still

  • Brother Justus Whiskey Company 3300 5th Street Northeast Minneapolis, MN, 55418 United States (map)

Each year, we take a moment to reset, reflect, and recommit to quality—honoring the grain, the land, and the people who make this whiskey possible. We gather at the heart of our distillery, where our stills turn Minnesota grains into American Single Malt, and raise a glass to the land, the makers, and the year ahead.

A monk from Saint John’s Abbey—the Benedictine community to which Brother Justus belonged—joins us for a brief blessing of the stills. It’s a nod to the monastic values of patience, discipline, and devotion to craft that shape how we make our whiskey, and recognition that monks were the original whiskey makers.

This annual tradition keeps us grounded in why we do what we do: thoughtfully crafting whiskey that’s meant to be shared.

Following the blessing:

  • We’ll toast with a dram of our American Single Malt Whiskey.

  • Our team will show you how to craft (and sip!) one of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day-inspired cocktails, the Shamrock Shimmy 2.0!

  • Our Founder Phil Steger will be available to sign bottles, and we’ll have extra pens around so you can customize your own.

  • Write a thought, hope, or aspiration on our Community Toast Wall to reflect on the past and look forward to the future.

This event is free to attend, but RSVPs are requested.
