American Craft Spirits Festival
Binny's and the American Craft Spirits Association welcome you to our third Craft Spirits Festival. Taste a variety of craft spirits, everything from brandy to bourbon, amaro to rum and beyond in this celebration of distillation innovation. A portion of proceeds will go to the STEPUP Foundation, an internship program benefitting underserved and underrepresented individuals in the craft spirits community.

For this edition of Whiskey Snobs, we're featuring one of Minnesota's most distinctive distilleries. Brother Justus Whiskey—Minnesota's Premier American Single Malt. Founded by Phil Steger, Brother Justus honors the real-life bootlegging monk whose copper stills lifted families out of poverty during Prohibition and made Minnesota whiskey world-famous. We're thrilled to welcome Phil back to Picnic and bring this fascinating history to life.
What sets Brother Justus apart? Their unwavering commitment to place. Minnesota is the only spot where three distinctive biomes converge perfectly for whiskey-making: limestone-filtered waters of the Mississippi River, barley from the nutrient-rich Great Plains, barrels from the world's coldest oak, and ancient peat from boreal bogs richer than Scotland and Ireland combined. Located just across the river in Northeast Minneapolis, Brother Justus creates award-winning American Single Malt using 100% malted barley, temperature controlled for slow maturation, and natural Minnesota peat. This in-depth, behind-the-scenes distillery tour with our Master Blender, James Jefferson, will show you how our whiskey goes from grain to glass, all on-site at our Minneapolis distillery! You’ll learn about the technical aspects of making whiskey, the surprising history of whiskey in Minnesota, and why we take a commitment to craft and quality unlike any other. Plus, you'll get a sneak peek behind the curtain to see how our Cold-Peated® Whiskey is creating a whole new whiskey category.

Bao Bao Buns Dim Sum Pop-Up
Bao Bao Buns makes small-batch baozi in both traditional and wacky flavors, using fresh ingredients to create cloud-like baos. Each is stuffed full of flavor, for quick snacks, sit-down meals, and everything in between!

Whiskey University
Class is in session! Join Carmen DeFalco and Brother Justus Founder Phil Steger for ESPN Chicago’s Whiskey University on September 23. Phil will walk attendees through all things Brother Justus and American Single Malt, so you’ll learn about his inspiration to start a distillery, the history of whiskey in Minnesota, and how we’re honoring whiskey tradition through innovation, while tasting through our products.
No tickets needed, but space is limited.
